Amy’s work with young performers in Dobbs Ferry began when she was approached by Georgia DeFalco, Vocal and Theatre Director at Dobbs Ferry High School and Middle School, who was looking for working theater professionals to become involved with the district’s theater program. Amy came on to direct Dobbs Ferry High School’s production of Chicago—an experience that sparked something in her.

While continuing her professional career in theater, Amy found herself drawn back to working with young people as her own daughter, a theater-loving student at Springhurst Elementary, began discovering that same joy in performing. It was there that Amy, alongside an incredible team of collaborators—including music director Charlie Rhyner and her right-hand partners, Dan Spitzer and Melissa Kosusko—helped create Springhurst’s first full-scale musical theater program, complete with a fully staged production and a comprehensive backstage program.

Together, they created an experience that went far beyond putting on a show. More than 100 students participated onstage and backstage, giving children the opportunity to experience every aspect of theater-making. Amy brought Broadway and industry professionals into the schools to work directly with students, older students mentored younger ones, parents became an integral part of the process, and hundreds of families came together around the productions. It showed Amy just how powerful theater could be—not only for the young people creating it, but for an entire community.

Seeing that impact, Dan encouraged Amy to imagine what might be possible beyond the schools. Together, they began dreaming of a theater company that could bring the same joy, community, access, and level of artistic experience to young people and families not only in Dobbs Ferry, but throughout Westchester. That idea became Good Company—a place where professional artists and the local community come together to create exceptional theater and meaningful opportunities for performers of all ages.

Amy brings to Good Company more than two decades of experience as a professional performer, recording artist, voiceover artist, and teaching artist. Her career includes ten seasons at Radio City Music Hall as a featured singer and Mrs. Claus in the Christmas Spectacular; Beehive at the Kennedy Center; the National Tour of State Fair; Rizzo in the European Tour of Grease; and performing as a USO Girl. Favorite roles include Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Diana Morales in A Chorus Line, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. She has also performed as a backup singer for Kristin Chenoweth.

Amy performs and records with her husband in their band, Amy Lynn & The Honey Men, whose original music and Janis Joplin tribute have been heard at venues including Birdland and B.B. King Blues Club, performing arts centers across the country, and on television and radio.

For Amy, Good Company brings all of these worlds together: professional artistry, arts education, community, and the belief that extraordinary theater experiences should be accessible close to home. At its heart is what she first witnessed in the schools—the joy and connection that happen when people of different ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience come together to make theater.
